ANACONDA — Ronan had a tough start to the season at the Old Works Golf Meet in Anaconda.
“Honestly, the course kicked my kids’ fannies,” Rupe Poulson, head coach of Ronan, said.
However, Poulson said it was a great learning experience for the team.
“We practiced all summer on our home course, and it was really good for them to get some experience on another,” Poulson said.
On the boy’s side, freshman Colin Hardy shot a respectable 93 in his first meet ever, said Poulson.
The girls didn’t have enough golfers to field a full team, however, Alex Dulman placed twelfth in the meet shooting 103.
Poulson said the Chiefs are looking towards improvement. With the Ronan Invitational happening today at the Mission Mountain Country Club, the Maidens are hoping to field a full team and both the boys and girls are looking to make a good showing.
Ronan hosts the Ronan Invitational today at 9 a.m. at the Mission Valley Country Club.
