Columbia Falls police took several complaints on Sunday and again on Monday about door-to-door solicitors, an activity that is illegal in city limits. Flathead County sheriff

Flathead County sheriff's deputies arrested a 45-year-old man for partner or family member assault after checking into a call regarding his welfare Sunday afternoon. A woman, concerned about his suicide threats, called a friend asking him to retrieve guns he had stored at the Zimmerman Road house. He got the guns and, as he left their house, allegedly heard a gunshot, so called the sheriff's office. Deputies said the woman had a handgun stored in a drawer but the man, who'd been drinking, denied shooting it.

Kalispell police

A man was hit with a beer glass, the report from an Airport Road bar went, but those involved were too drunk to tell their story to Kalispell police Sunday night. A couple of the men, however, were later arrested for DUI No. 2 and resisting arrest, and for probation violation, when their vehicle was stopped on South Main.

Despite a caller's description of apparent drug activity by a driver and his female passenger, the suspects could not be found.

A neighbor's report that two men broke in and stole a Liberty Street resident's laptop, video camera and digital camera, ended when the laptop and its bag wound up back on her porch.

Blaring music, screaming and yelling from a nearby parking lot didn't sit well with hotel guests Sunday night. Police warned the partying crowd to keep it down.

Seven or eight older men rearranged letters on an East Idaho hotel's reader board to form vulgar words, but the hotel owner was notified and removed the offensive language.

A man was taken to the Kalispell Regional Medical Center emergency room from another East Idaho motel after suicide threats early Monday.

A woman reportedly tried to get narcotics from the emergency room later in the morning, but was told she would be cited for trespassing if she showed up again.
