After separate purse-snatching incidents at a grocery store on Third Avenue East North, Kalispell Police arrested two men Tuesday evening. A 19-year-old was arrested for theft, possessing alcohol, obstructing an officer, driving with a suspended license and a warrant. The other man, age 22, was arrested for theft and obstructing an officer.
A bicycle worth $2,500 was reported stolen from an Appleway Drive residence.
A person reported that a man standing across the street on the 200 block of Eighth Avenue West was threatening to shoot him with an AK-47. Officers talked to both parties.
In a road-rage incident, a person reported being followed by a man into Kalispell and that the man pulled a gun and claimed to be a federal agent.
A resident of a home on the 400 block of Liberty Street reported waking up to find a strange man in the living room. When officers arrived, the man was arrested for criminal trespass.
There was a report of a tire being slashed on a vehicle on Appleway Drive.
There were 57 log entries between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Flathead County sheriff
The Flathead County Sheriff's Office got a report Tuesday of a bear tearing up a tent and taking food from a campsite on the Crystal Creek Loop off the North Fork Road about seven miles north of Columbia Falls.
A camera and other items were reported stolen from a vehicle on Morning Glory Lane.
A generator was reported stolen from a residence on Seventh Avenue East just outside of Kalispell.
Sheriffs dispatch had 134 log entries between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Columbia Falls police
Columbia Falls Police on Wednesday arrested a man, 46, for shoplifting at a grocery store on U.S. 2.
There were 17 log entries between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Whitefish police
Whitefish Police got a report Tuesday night from a woman who said her backpack with groceries was stolen at the Farmers Market in Depot Park.
A man, 18, was arrested Wednesday after turning himself on a contempt of court warrant.
There were 40 log entries between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Alarms
A man, 50, was taken by ambulance to Kalispell Regional Medical Center after rolling his all-terrain vehicle on Cloud Creek Road in the Somers area.
Just minutes later, dispatchers got a report of an 80-year-old man being found dead near his ATV on Columbia Falls Stage Road. The sheriff's coroner ruled that he had died of cardiac arrest.
After a rollover accident at Farm View Lane and Reserve Drive, a person was taken by ambulance to the Kalispell hospital.
