C-Falls tops Browning; Whitefish romps

BROWNING - Kaleb Johnson returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown and followed that with a 74-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Mitchell Wassam as Columbia Falls upended Browning 28-14 in Class A nonconference football play Friday night.
Columbia Falls, 2-1, led 14-0 after the opening quarter thanks to Johnson's big plays.
The Wildcats completed their scoring in the final quarter. Chris King was on the receiving end of a 19-yard TD pass from Wassam and then King bolted 12 yards to reach the end zone.
Columbia Falls outgained Browning, 0-3, 365-83 yards.
Wassam was 10 of 20 passing for 196 yards. He threw one interception.
Columbia Falls hosts Dillon on Friday.

WHITEFISH - Daniel Simmons ran for four touchdowns and 201 yards on 23 carries in leading Whitefish to a nonconference victory over Anaconda, 0-3.
Simmons scores came on runs of 26, 15, 5 and 49 yards.
Quarterback Mac Roche completed 7 of 13 passes for 215 yards and one TD. He also ran for a touchdown.
Whitefish piled up 546 yards of total offense.
"It was very entertaining from a fans' point of view, but from a coaches' view, we gave up a lot of yards," WHS coach Patrick Dryden said.
"We need to address that."
Whitefish, 2-1, continues with nonconference action on Friday at Stevensville.

EUREKA - Shiloh Kerr and Kevin Berland both ran for two touchdowns to carry No. 4-ranked Missoula Loyola to a victory over Eureka in Class B nonconference play.
Eureka scored first on a 29-yard run by Chad Price.
"We were inside the red zone twice and threw two interceptions," Eureka coach Ed Newell said.
"When you make mistakes, a good team like that will make you pay."

CONRAD - Conrad used a big first half to roll past Bigfork in Class B nonconference action.
Conrad, 1-1, led 37-0 at the half.
"A tale of two halves," Bigfork coach Todd Emslie said. "The first half was absolutely brutal. The second half, we came out with some fire. I'm proud of them for that."
Bigfork scored four TDs in the final half.

Also scoring were Jake Skelton on a 40-yard scamper and Trae Fouty hauled in an 18-yard TD pass from Vince Digiallonardo.
