Don’t forget the second Community Health & Wellness Fair this Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Bonner County Fairgrounds.

It promises to be both fun and informative, with something for the entire family!

We’ll have representatives on hand from most all of the hospital departments with information about the services we provide right here in Sandpoint. In addition, here are a few of the services we’ll be offering at no cost:

• Skin spot checks

• Blood pressure checks

• Blood sugar testing

• Osteoporosis risk assessment screening

• Diabetes education

• H1N1 (“swine”) flu information, plus general flu season advice

• Living wills and healthcare powers of attorney

We’ll also have low-cost sports safety helmets available for sale. Bicycle helmets are $5 and ski helmets are just $15, so take this opportunity to protect yourself and your family from sports-related head injuries.

Last but not least, we’ll conduct a drawing for a free digital screening mammogram, an advanced imaging technology that we’re pleased to now offer to our community.

Bonner General Hospital is committed to your good health!  Join us this Saturday to learn more about the services we can provide for you and your family right here at home!

Lynda Metz is the director of community development at Bonner General Hospital.
