An Evergreen woman thought a man who came around selling equipment was suspicious, so she loosed her pit bull. The man left. Flathead County Sheriff's deputies later tracked him down and determined he was just selling tools.

A resident on U.S. 2 near Martin City returned home to find a bloody handprint on the door.

Someone who frequents a Columbia Falls-area green-box site in search of usable items wanted deputies to warn the manager about calling him names.

A North Mission Drive man told deputies a woman stole his stuff and then tried to pawn it. The items were returned and the pair elected to work it out between themselves.

Road work ruined a Whitefish Stage Road man's driveway, and he wanted authorities to know about it. He also had an unrelated complaint about one of his neighbors.

Deputies received 126 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kalispell police

Kalispell police responded to Appleway Drive after a man and woman got into a dispute over the custody of their child. The woman told officers the man, her ex-boyfriend, tried to take her son. He reportedly locked himself in the bathroom.

Two men broke out the front windows of a car parked in the lot at Woodland Park.

Someone pried open the window of a truck parked on Teal Drive, but failed to get inside.

Windows on two cars were broken out in the Second Avenue East North area.

A Cooper Lane woman told police the father of another woman called and threatened her. This apparently was the continuation of a prior altercation.

While investigating a suspicious-person complaint on Liberty Street, officers arrested a 25-year-old man for violating his probation.

The rider of a motorcycle crashed while coming out of a Woodland Park Drive bar, but was able to pick himself up and drive away.

A church on Third Avenue East was vandalized. Someone reportedly let off a fire extinguisher inside the building.

Officers received 80 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 33-year-old woman for disorderly conduct after responding to a domestic disturbance on Lupfer Avenue. She reportedly broke things and threw them around the house.

Officers received 40 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police received 34 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Alarms

The Smith Valley Fire Department responded Monday afternoon to the Haywire Gulch area to extinguish a small wildfire.

The Whitefish Fire Department and Olney Fire Department were paged out to a small wildfire near railroad tracks off Lupfer Meadow Road.

The Smith Valley Fire Department responded to treat the victim of a fall on Eagle Mountain Way. Paramedics with the Evergreen Fire Department did the same on Springwood Lane.

The Smith Valley Fire Department and West Valley Fire Department were paged out to a rollover crash on Ashley Lake Road, but no one was around the vehicle.
