Quincy police investigate shooting

QUINCY — Two men were injured after a suspected gang-related shooting on E Street Northeast in Quincy Wednesday night.

Unknown suspects reportedly fired shots at a residence on E Street after a physical fight and fled the area, stated Quincy interim police Chief Greg Meinzer.

Several bullets struck the residence but no one inside was injured, he stated.

Two men outside the residence were injured.

A 21-year-old man was shot in the foot and was taken to Quincy Valley Medical Center by family. He was treated and released shortly after, Meinzer stated.

An 18-year-old male was transported to the medical center by ambulance for treatment of head injuries received during the fight.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the incident. It remains under investigation.
