BIGFORK — The Mission volleyball team lost to Bigfork before beating Darby last week.
Last Thursday, the Lady Bulldogs dropped three sets to Bigfork 23-25, 20-25, 18-25.
Head coach Kendal Anderson said the games were very close.
“[Junior middle hitter] Adessa Durglo really stepped up and played well, but my front row wasn’t as strong, as a whole, as they usually are,” Anderson said.
Durglo had 11 kills while senior libero Katie McDonald had 13 digs.
Mission had seen Darby previously as Darby played Troy and the Bulldogs thought they had a good idea of their opponent.
“It was like a different Darby team against us,” Anderson said. “They weren’t as aggressive and we started playing down to that level, which is why the second and third games were closer than the first.”
Durglo continued to impress Anderson with seven kills. Senior middle hitter Rachel Jensen also had seven kills and McDonald had 16 digs.
The Bulldogs faced Bigfork on Tuesday. Scores were unavailable at time of print.
“I’m hoping we will be able to come out on top,” Anderson said. “They are definitely good, but beatable.”
Mission will play Eureka in St. Ignatius on Saturday.
