ARLEE — The Charlo volleyball team didn’t play up to it’s potential last weekend.
After beating St. Regis last week 25-15, 25-11, 25-15, the Vikings didn’t do so well at the Arlee Spike It Tournament last Saturday.
“We stunk it up,” head coach Sheryl Kain said. “We weren’t ready to play.”
Charlo didn’t make it out of pool play after beating Victor and Arlee and losing to Alberton and Seeley.
One of the things the Vikings didn’t do was block. The Vikings tallied zero blocks in the tournament.
“We had blocking errors and that’s what hurt us,” Kain said.
Overall, senior outside hitter Jaris Kelley had 5 aces and 12 kills. Sophomore middle hitter Kinley Pope had 12 digs. Sophomore setter Dawn Blevins registered 18 blocks.
“We’ve never been like that,” Kain said. “It was pretty much a team effort of not moving.”
Charlo will try to move past the weekend’s results when they play Hot Springs on Tuesday night.
“If I was Hot Springs, I would have all the confidence in the world,” Kain said. “I hope [our players] are mad. We have something to prove.”
Scores were unavailable at press time.
Charlo will face Two Eagle River tonight.
