RONAN — Ronan volleyball had a tough week.
The Maidens lost to Whitefish 12-25, 8-25, 9-25 last Thursday.
“We came out flat,” head coach Shae Hutchinson said. “Whitefish has a quick offense.”
In a bright spot, junior Alice VanGunten led the team with six digs and one ace.
Last Saturday, Ronan lost to Libby 17-25, 11-25, 16-25.
“Our girls played well,” Hutchinson said.
One thing the Maidens talked about doing more was blocking.
“We weren’t able to block, even get a touch,” Hutchinson said.
One thing that did work was junior middle hitter Katie Andrews’ passing, which she had been working on in practice.
“Katie and [senior outside hitter] Brittani Clairmont both passed real well,” Hutchinson said.
Senior outside hitter Chelsey Bourdon had eight kills.
“She was placing the balls well,” Hutchinson said.
Ronan has the week off and will face Polson next Friday.
“We will focus on hitting and blocking,” Hutchinson said.
