EVOLUTION: There is religion in science
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 14 years, 9 months AGO
In response to Mr. John Weldon’s “My Turn” on March 27, it is an interesting statement that there is no religion in science. That certainly does not apply to origin of the Earth and universe. This cannot be observed nor repeated, which is the definition of science.
The evidence (fossils) exists only in the present. Many assumptions are made and unproven dating methods are developed. A quote from the “American Biology Teacher” by Theodosius Dobzhansky states “Evolution is a light which illuminates all facts, a trajectory which all lines of thought must follow.” This is what is being taught to our kids in their text books.
That does not sound like an unbiased, scientific approach. It is the refusal of some scientists to consider anything other than evolution that leads to blind conclusions when dinosaur fossils are found with red blood cells still in them, that they are amazed that blood cells could remain after 65 million years!
Maybe consider another option; could the fossil possibly be from a global flood 4,400 years ago? Where would a truly scientific approach to such discoveries lead? We are all biased, and that leads to a pre-determined approach to interpreting evidence. Yes, Mr. Weldon, science can support creation. I agree with you that religion and science don’t mix, because religion is man’s faulty attempt at coming to our Creator. Honestly check and see if there is evidence for a young Earth and a global flood.
Evolution science is religion. Make no mistake.
