This just in from CdA Police:

On 08/01/10 Coeur d'Alene Police Officer J. Noble was responding to a report of a stabbing in the 2200 Block of E. Sherman Ave. He was traveling EB on I-90 in a marked police vehicle with lights and siren activated.  As Officer Noble was traveling EB in the left lane, another vehicle suddenly appeared in his lane, traveling WB.  Officer Noble had to swerve to avoid a head on collision.  While doing so, Officer Noble lost control of his vehicle and struck the concrete barrier head on.  Officer Noble was able to call out that he was involved in a crash and reported the wrong way driver to responding units.  The suspect vehicle continued driving WB until finally crashing into a guard rail near Atlas Rd.

Jodi L. Warner, 43 (aka: Jodi L. Turbin) of Post Falls was arrested for excessive DUI and leaving the scene of a crash.

A female driver who witnessed the near collision felt the Officer's quick evasive action helped save her life.

Officer Noble sustained an abrasion wound to his arm.
