Care and education key in living pain free
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 15 years, 4 months AGO
No matter your age, gender, or lifestyle, all of us will experience pain at some time in our lives. That pain could be in the form of an acute injury resulting in surgery or immediate therapy to remedy, or that pain could be in the form of nagging back, neck, or hip pain that can change the way you go about your everyday life.
However that pain appears in your life, there is hope that you can get back to the things you love doing, pain free. The physical therapists at Pinnacle Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine pride themselves on treating the source of the pain, not just where it hurts.
Pinnacle's therapists take the time and effort to not only get you out of pain fast, but educate you so that pain never returns.
"Each day we see patients experiencing a wide range of pain," says Mark Bengtson, Physical Therapist and Owner of Pinnacle Physical Therapy. "We are in the position to help people get back to their normal lives, whether that is training for athletic events or simply giving people the ability to garden and clean their house without discomfort. Each of one our patients receives one-on-one care to ensure that their individual goals are being met and addressed appropriately."
In addition to Pinnacle's physical therapy services, Pinnacle has also developed programs to help the community live more healthy lives.
Total Joint Replacement Class
Pinnacle's Free Total Joint Replacement Rehabilitation class is held every third Tuesday of the month. The next class will be held on Aug. 17 at 5:30 p.m. The class covers everything patients undergoing a total hip or total knee replacement should expect before and after surgery. Each attendee receives a Free Total Joint Replacement Guidebook filled with frequently asked questions, things to do to prepare their body and homes for the procedure, and exercises to help the overall outcome of the surgery.
Past attendees of the class have found the class helpful in what to expect and helped calm any fears. Please call in advance to reserve your spot at (208)777-4242.
Aquatic Therapy
The Pinnacle Aquatic Physical Therapy program offers an alternative form of rehabilitation and can be used in conjunction with other, traditional therapies. The pool is an environment uniquely suited to facilitate the healing of many orthopedic, neurologic, and chronic conditions including: Arthritis, joint pain, back and neck pain, Fibromyalgia, bariatric care, prenatal joint pain, and pre and post operation rehabilitation. By conducting treatments in a warm, therapeutic, variable depth pool, patients can comfortably improve their flexibility, balance, strength, and cardiovascular function.
Pinnacle Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine has two locations, in Post Falls at 1590 E. Polston Ave and in Coeur d'Alene at 3322 Grand Mill Lane off Seltice Way.
