GOP: Election integrity key issue
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 14 years, 5 months AGO
Thursday’s Press front page banner headline stated, “GOP to Fund Challenge.” The article contained information about the source of the funds and their “reserved” use, that was inaccurate. To the best of my knowledge, Doug Weir was not authorized to speak for the KCRCC, since it was agreed that an official press release would be sent to The Press Thursday morning, which it was. Hopefully, The Press has or will publish a follow-up article that reflects the KCRCC reasoning and purpose in contributing a very small portion of the funds needed to completely determine, through the court process, what really happened in last November’s City Election.
The KCRCC should be congratulated and thanked for its contribution in support of trying to determine the truth about how our local elections have been conducted. There is proof that many anomalies have been commonplace in the past. I hope that the Kootenai County Democrat Central Committee joins the KCRCC in contributing to the effort, to assure honest and fair elections in Kootenai County, being that honest and fair elections are the cornerstone of our free Republic.
Whether or not the Kootenai County Democrat Central Committee chooses to make a contribution, I would like to implore every voter who cares about honest and fair elections, conducted in accordance with the laws of the state of Idaho, to make a meaningful contribution, to assure continuation of the Election Contest court process. Court challenges are not cheap, and although the KCRCC contribution is meaningful, it is only a small part of the funds needed.
This is, nor never has been about Jim Brannon or Mike Kennedy. This is about getting to the bottom of how our elections are conducted. If you care about honest and fair elections, and having your vote counted accurately and lawfully, please send a contribution to attorney Starr Kelso, P.O. Box 1312, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83816.
