In response to an invitation for an Ideal Protein patient get together, one of our Ideal Protein Diet/Treatment patients wrote us this note. I have known Michelle and her wonderful family for several years, and so it is with special joy that I celebrate with her in her triumph over being overweight.

Hi Victoria,

Sounds like a great idea!

Great time to edify one another. We may be headed out of town tomorrow. Just waiting to confirm arrangements. If we end up staying here, I will come by. I am doing great on the (Ideal Protein) Diet. Back on track...Another pound less today. Yea! If I am not there Please share any of this...

I would encourage everyone who is on this diet to treat this like a medical treatment for your own good. This diet is, I believe, a tool that will help prevent many chronic conditions that we potentially would be on the road for, if left alone in our current state of health.

I have already lost 50 pounds and feel great having done it! Is it easy..? No! But is injecting your self with insulin going to be easier? No! There are many chronic conditions we could develop if we do not take control of our diet today. This is the easiest diet I have seen in a long time but like everything else we've tried this diet has its downside too. Limited recipe options... and dealing with feeding other people in your family "real food" and having to make "special food" for yourself. With all of that, we have to ask ourselves, are the downsides of this diet very different from any other diet you have ever done? Not really...

If your "why" is big enough and your commitment to yourself greater than ever before then you should be right on track. BE COMMITTED TO YOU!

I would encourage you to Keep moving forward...do not cheat. Every time you derail from the program or choose to take time off, you cheat YOU out of the results (another 3-5 pounds). You cheat on you. Do not beat yourself up. Re commit now and get back on it and get it over with I do not want to do this forever. I want to be done too!

I choose now to be committed to me, to my health and to my family so that I may ive my life to the fullest that God intended me to.

Please do not judge others fore not choosing this diet or those that are slacking or cheating on their diet. They just have not committed to themselves yet for whatever reason. They may not feel deserving of good health or feeling good about themselves. They have a relationship to food. We all do! A sort of comfort we find in our food or joy we find in making it. Do not let it rule you.

Please do not be critical of others. Come alongside of your friends in this program and help them to be accountable and committed to themselves because they are deserving...and because they are loved no matter how they look or how much they weigh. We only want health and happiness for them.

Be strong and stay on this program and get it done.

I want to be done too! I am sticking with it til I deem myself done! I love food too, but my relationship with it has changed. Praise God I love to cook and will continue to cook with joy and I am now looking forward to creating great recipes for me, my friends and others who want healthier recipes for lasting health.

Blessing and good health to you...

Michelle (Hyatt)

The Skinny on Weight Loss: Part I

As attested to by the many ads in the media, we are a nation of dieters. According to the Surgeon General of the United States, "The greatest threat to our country isn't terrorism, it's obesity." Perhaps more of us should be thinking about losing the unhealthy extra weight we've accumulated. But losing weight is physiologically unnatural. Many of you have tried can attest to that and that's why 95 percent of people who have successfully lost weight will gain it back.
