Sailboats are backlit as they wait for the winds to come up on Friday evening on Flathead Lake. The normal Friday night races became a practice run for the Montana Cup Regatta which began on Saturday and continues today.

The North Flathead Yacht Club hosts as many as 40 different races throughout the summer on Flathead Lake. Races on Tuesday and Friday evenings are the staples of the summer season.
