The 2010 Parade of Homes show continues this weekend, starting Friday and concluding Sunday, with seven homes constructed by four Coeur d'Alene-Spokane area builders. Four entries are in Coeur d'Alene, two are in Hayden, and one is in Hayden Lake.
The homes include one for less than $220,000 in Balser Estates, in Hayden, and two are listed for more than $1 million.
"We like to show off homes in some of the new subdivisions we're building in," said Todd Stam, owner and operator of Aspen Homes and Development LLC, of Coeur d'Alene.
This year, Aspen is showing homes at Coeur d'Alene Place, Balser Estates and Falls at Hayden Lake.
"Those are ones we really wanted to focus on this year," Stam said.
Shawn Anderson, who owns and operates Monarch Development Inc., along with her husband, Joel, said the Hayden company is looking to show the public the different price ranges it can build to, and demonstrate how the company can build a home that maximizes the use of river-front property. Monarch Development has two homes in the event.
Two other builders, Victory Homes of Coeur d'Alene, and Greenstone Homes of Liberty Lake, each has a home in the show.
The event runs from 1-7 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The event also was held last weekend. Admission is $5 for ages 2 and up.

It's located at 2569 Renoir in Coeur d'Alene Place, and it sits on about a third of an acre.
It has a wood-burning fireplace, timber, stone and shake accents, hardwood floors, solid-wood doors, tile and granite, and rope lighting in the kitchen.
The architect is Joe Coulter, and Aspen Homes is the general contractor. The $300,000 home was finished in March 2010. It has been sold.
"I'd call it a step-up home, or second home," said Stam. "Empty nesters would love it."
The Silver Creek is a 1,620-square-foot home in Balser Estates, in Hayden. The home, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, is located at 9371 Justice Way.
Inside, the single-level home has vaulted ceilings and stainless steel appliances and solid-wood doors. It has an oversized two-car garage. Outside, it has plank siding and a covered front porch.
Ryan Neary is the architect, and it was built by Aspen Homes, and finished last month. The home, which sits on about a third of an acre, is listed at $219,000.
"It's a tremendous value," Stam said. "Anybody can get into it."
Danielle Reed, of Windermere/Coeur d'Alene Realty Inc., is the listing agent.
The Alpine is $1.1 million, 4,530-square-foot home in the lakeside community of the Falls at Hayden Lake.
The home, located at 10907 N. Avalon Falls Court, has two floors, with nearly 900 square feet on the upper floor. It has three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, and a three-car garage.
The home's features include wine room, secret door in one upstairs bedroom, dish drawers, granite farm sink, steam oven, onyx vessel sinks, hand-hewn log vanity, and copper lounging tub. Outside, it has cedar siding.
The architect is Joe Coulter, and it was built by Aspen Homes. It was finished earlier this month.
Brent Heleker, Rusty Reyes, and Mike DeLong of Century 21 Beutler and Associates are the three listing agents, Stam said.
Aspen Homes, which has 10 employees, has 15 houses under construction, and will likely build about 30 this year, Stam said.
He said that production is up about 20 percent compared with the same period last year.
Monarch Development Inc.
The Beachwood is a two-story, 3,700-square-foot home that has four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. The Spokane River runs behind the home, located at 3866 Shoreview Lane, in Coeur d'Alene. It's listed at $1.47 million.
Eric Hedlund is the architect and Monarch Development is the general contractor. It was finished in January. Suzan Helmhout of Century 21 Beutler and Associates is the listing agent, said Anderson.
Home highlights include dual marble master bathroom suites, a gourmet kitchen, and oversized bedrooms with private bathrooms.
"It's a great plan for river-view lots," she said. "It maximizes the view (of the water) on a narrow lot."
She said Monarch Development selected this home for the event because the company wanted to showcase one of its high-end homes. Also, she said the company wanted the public to know that it's building in Rivers Edge.
The Tanglewood is a 2,200-square-foot Northwest-style home with three-plus bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The home, located at 11445 Riata Road, in Rocking R Ranch in Hayden, is being listed for $336,000.
"It's at a very popular price point right now," Anderson said. "We like to build in every price range."
The outside features exterior timbers and stone wainscot. Inside, the home has a stone fireplace and bamboo flooring. The kitchen has alder cabinets and moveable island, stainless appliances, and granite tops. The master bathroom has marble, travertine and tile with a corner tub and walk-in shower, along with dual sinks.
Mark Latham is the architect and Monarch Development completed construction on the home earlier this month.
Bret Minzghor and Jim Fox of Windermere are the listing agents, Anderson said.
She said Monarch Development, which has four employees, is building or has completed six homes this year. It has immediate plans for two more.
She said Monarch Development launched a new division this month that's planning a subdivision to be called Crimson King, near Highway 41 and Mullan Avenue. Homes there will start at $160,000, she said.
Monarch Development also is working at Mica View Estates, at Mica Bay, on Lake Coeur d'Alene. Homes there are going to be valued at $1 million and up. The custom home development will focus on lots with lake views, private docks, and beach areas, she said. Building there should start in one to two months, she said.
Victory Homes
The Relevant is a 1,300-square-foot home with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and an oversized two-car garage. It's located at 2739 Dumont Drive, at Coeur d'Alene Place.
The home has vaulted ceilings, and a master suite with double doors and private bathroom.
Outside, the home has an enclosed barbecue niche and 16 foot by 22 foot concrete patio with a gas fire pit.
The private alley entrance leads to the 36 foot by 23 foot garage.
The architect is Ryan Neary, and Victory Homes was the general contractor. It was finished Aug. 10, and is listed for just more than $184,100.
Scott Smith of Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty is the listing agent, said Carri Berglund, sales and marketing specialist for Victory Homes.
She said a similar home showed well in a recent home tour in Spokane.
"It's really practical, and easy to maintain," she said. "It's low priced, which is good in this economy."
She said that's why they chose the home to show in the Parade of Homes.
Victory Homes, the custom production home builder, has seven employees, and is getting close to reaching 40 homes built this year, she said. That's up about 10 percent compared with the year-earlier period, she said.
Victory Homes is currently building in a section of a housing development east of Spokane called Coyote Rock. The development is just south of Arbor Crest Wine Cellars along the Spokane River, Berglund said.
Victory Homes also is building in a development called Pine Rock in Spokane Valley, near 32nd Avenue and Pines Road.
Greenstone Homes and Neighborhoods
The Aspen is a two-story, 1,600-square-foot home located in Coeur d'Alene Place.
The home, at 6605 Madellaine, has three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, and a two-car garage. It also has an unfinished basement. The home is listed for about $240,000.
Inside, the home has a large kitchen with an eating bar. The master suite has a large walk-in closet and a nook that could be used for a library, sitting room or exercise area.
Jeremiah Steckman is the architect, and Greenstone built the home, said Jayson Hunnel, director of sales and marketing for Greenstone Homes.
The home was finished this month, and Rob Brickett, at Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty, is the listing agent, Hunnel said.
"It's been a pretty popular floor plan for us," Hunnel said. "It has a good use of space. It makes for a nice family home."
Greenstone has about 70 employees and has built about 160 homes so far this year, Hunnel said.
"That's up about 35 percent from this point last year," he said.
He attributed the increase to Greenstone's efforts to incorporate "green" energy efficient features in its homes.
