This morning, Hudson's Hamburgers honors an old agreement.

The century-old burger joint will give a long-awaited burger on the house to hydroplane racing legend Mira "The Flying Czech" Slovak. The old champion had crashed his hydroplane in Coeur d'Alene's Diamond Cup Regatta in 1963, and donated his suit from the race to Hudson's. The Hudsons said they owed Slovak a burger in exchange for the suit, now hanging in the restaurant beside a picture of the crash.

Slovak, from San Diego, is in town for the Diamond Cup Regatta historic hydroplane exhibition this weekend.
