KTEC: Cheaper than you think
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 14 years, 5 months AGO
Aug. 24, 2010, is the day when we can make a huge leap forward in the Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls and Lakeland school districts.
A joint vocational technical building of 50,000 square feet housing welding, health occupations, construction and automotive trades is planned. Those programs will be integrated with NIC's vocational programs. This integration means a high school student can start working on their technical certification, thus saving parents, taxpayers and the state up to a full year of training.
The cost is for two years only. It is 35 cents per $1,000 valuation in Coeur d'Alene, 55 cents in Post Falls and 50 cents in Lakeland. With the homeowner's exemption a $200,000 home will cost $35 in Coeur d'Alene, $55 in Post Falls and $50 in Lakeland.
This is for two years only. Construction costs are down. The project brings jobs. Best of all, it will start people on a career path.
Vote YES on Aug. 24 for KTEC.
