BONNERS FERRY — A call from Boundary Community Hospital last Saturday night reporting a shooting resulted in the arrest of a Solomon Lake Road woman on a charge of aggravated battery.
According to Chief Deputy Rich Stephens, the call from the hospital came in at 10:54 p.m., and deputies met with Jeremy Stanley, 46, who told them his wife, Casty Cain-Holquin, 46, who was intoxicated, had fired three shots at him with a .22 caliber rifle during a domestic dispute at their home. He was driven to the hospital by a neighbor, where he was treated and released for a gunshot wound to the left shin.
Deputies went to the couple’s residence at 135 Solomon Lake Road while dispatch attempted without success to make contact at the residence by phone, and deputies at the scene likewise received no response to their demands that those in the residence come out.
A roadblock leading up to the home was set up, the house was illuminated and attempts were made over a public address system to contact the occupants, until, at 1:59 a.m., deputies entered the house and were able to take Cain-Holquin into custody without incident.
She remains in custody while the investigation continues.
