POLSON — Camaraderie was on display next to various wines from around the world during the 26th annual Soroptimist Winefest last Saturday.
“It was just a great evening,” event co-chair Cheryl Thomas said.
As about 150 event-goers swirled, sniffed and sipped their way through the night, all proceeds went towards the Soroptimists to help fund their various scholarships and causes.
The group, whose motto is “women helping women,” offer scholarships to students in Lake County. One scholarship is for vo-tech while another helps out a single parent who is returning to school, as well as scholarships for high school students. The Soroptimists also donate to the Boys & Girls Club and DOVES.
“All of the money stays in the county,” Thomas said.
This year, the event took place at the KOA campgrounds, a departure from the Polson Airport last year.
“We wanted to try something new,” Thomas said.
