Daily Inter Lake | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 14 years, 5 months AGO
Carol Lane, of Kalispell, was called to her final reward on Aug. 22, 2010, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. She blessed us with her presence for 80 years. Carol was born on Sept. 23, 1929, in Hot Springs. Shortly after that, the stock market crashed and the Great Depression began. Coincidence? " We think not! She was the fifth of seven children born to Bert Dolson and Bertha (Markle) Dolson. She was raised on the family ranch just outside of Hot Springs and graduated from Hot Springs High School. She met a young serviceman, Kernie Lane, in Oregon, who became the love of her life. They were married on Nov. 15, 1952. The couple had four children. After Kernie s discharge from the Navy, the family moved to the Flathead Valley in 1960, where she lived until her death. Carol was a wife, mother and homemaker. She was active in the First Baptist Church of Kalispell for many years. She enjoyed needlework, puzzles, hosting card parties for friends and family, and sitting on her deck enjoying the sights and sounds of the neighborhood. If you were a friend of hers, it was for life. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Kernie; her daughter, Julie (Lane) Corbitt; her brothers, Pat, Mickey and Jack Dolson; and her sisters, Joan Nelson and Ellen Aycock. She is survived by her daughters, Lorrie and Leslie Lane, both of Kalispell; son, Greg, and daughter-in-law, DeeDee, Lane of Wausau, Wis.; son-in-law, John Corbitt, of Spokane; sister, Virginia, and brother-in-law, Andrew Walker, of Scotland; sister-in-law, Meredith Dolson, of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Lara, Lincoln and wife Shelley, Adam, Patrick and Colleen; and great-grandchildren, Daniel, Elizabeth and Moryssa. Funeral services for Carol will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26, at Johnson - Gloschat Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today, Aug. 25, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Glacier Memorial Gardens. Johnson - Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Carol s family. You are invited to go to www.jgfuneralhome.com to view Carol s Tribute Wall and offer condolences.
