Last week's Pilot's "Cheers for Volunteers' column was about my third-grade teacher and one of my favorite people, Carolyn Pfrimmer. I've known Carolyn all my life, as she and my mom, also a Whitefish teacher, were good friends. Carolyn was the first one there when Dad passed.

In 2000, there was a class reunion in Depot Park for all Whitefish High School students who graduated in the 1960s. I sat down at a picnic table to talk with Carolyn. She had a list of people in front of her, and she checked my name off. This was a list of everyone graduating 1960-1969 who were in one of her classes. She had made a list so she wouldn't miss anyone. What a lady.
