John Wesley Wes Johnson, 88

John Wesley Wes Johnson, 88, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at Health Center Northwest in Kalispell. He was born in Springbrook, Wis., on Jan. 10, 1922, to John E. and Myrtle Johnson. He spent his early years in Earl, Wis. He served in World War II from 1942 to 1946 as a radio operator on B-17s. He was on his way to Japan when the war ended. On June 27, 1947, he married Beverley L. Visger in Pine City, Minn. They made their home in Minong, Wis., where they had a son, Wesley Richard, and a daughter, Jaclyn Christine. Wes worked as a logger. In 1967, they moved to Libby where they made their home until 1993, when they moved to Kalispell to be near family. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bev; son, Wes, and Gina Johnson, of Ronan; and daughter, Jackie, and Jeff VanHelden, of Kalispell; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister. Funeral services for Wes will be held at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 28, in the Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gordy McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the Glacier Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for Wes family.
