Peak Rivalries - Ronan and Mission will be in the same district next year in Class B meaning a whole lot of fun. Expect that Chiefs-Bulldogs football game next season to be a showcase of hard-nosed football.

Peak Carroll College Football - Making their 11th straight playoff ap-pearance, the NAIA powerhouse is in the semi-finals after a 38-6 victory over Marian in the second round. Polson's Ted Morigeau plays safety for the Saints and could be playing in another national championship game if things keep going the way they have been for the Saints.

Peak Former Griz player Marc Mariani - This kid just keeps wowing people in the NFL. He earned AFC Special Teams player of the week awards after running back a touchdown for the Tennessee Titans in their game against the Washington Redskins in week 11. Mariani also had a touch-down return for the Titans in week 3 against the Denver Broncos. Mariani leads the league in punt return yardage with 17.1 and is third in the AFC with a 26.3 kickoff return average.

Peak Winter sports - After a brief hiatus, we're ready to get high school sports started again. Hopefully all the athletes enjoyed their one or two days off before going back to practice again. Do these talented athletes ever get a day off? And do we have to talk about snow-boarding and skiing? If you haven't already been up on the slopes enjoy-ing the winter wonderland of Western Montana, you're probably tap dancing and kissing babies with every passing snowstorm.

Peak Big Sky Conference Football - So the Griz aren't in the playoffs, but there are two teams from the same con-ference that have very legitimate shots at the national title. Eastern Washington plays Southeast Missouri State at home on Saturday and the Montana State Bobcats will host North Dakota State.

Peak Chinook Football - The Charlo Vikings ended their season against Chinook, who ended up winning the state title, with a 74-6 victory over Wilbaux Co. in the championship game.

Valley Missoula economy - With the Griz not making the playoffs this year, the city of Missoula lost potential business from fans coming to town for that extra game. However, had UM gone to the FBS, they wouldn't be going to the playoffs anyways.

Valley Boise State's kicker - Kyle Brotzman should just change his name to Ray Finkle or Scott Norwood. His two missed field goals mean that Oregon will be the only representative from the Northwest this season in the BCS. Lets hope he's put in some sort of witness protection program, although there has been a Facebook group made in his support with thousands of members. Perhaps he won't have to move to Canada after all...

Valley Thanksgiving leftovers - I think the turkey in my fridge has al-ready become self-aware and is quick-ly plotting its escape. Does anyone else find it strange that the growth on it is speaking with a British accent?
