Rough start hurts Trojan boys

The Troy High School boys basketball
team opened the season on Friday with a single game at a tournament
in Eureka.
The Trojans got into a big hole early
and ended up losing by a dozen points, 56-44, to Stillwater
Christian.
Troy scored just two points in the
first quarter and trailed 24-9 at halftime. The Trojans tried to
rally in the second half and outscored the Cougars, 35-32.
Mikey Ormiston scored 13 points and
Cory Orr added 12 for the Trojans, who began the season without one
of their top players in the injured Ryan Rayson.
Josh Bray scored 19 points to lead the
Cougars.
Troy (0-0, 0-1) plays host to Noxon on
Thursday with the varsity scheduled to tip-off at around 7:30
p.m.
The Trojans then head to Thompson Falls
on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. game, and come back home to play Superior
at 6 p.m., on Saturday.
The boys will also play at Troy
Activity Center on Monday against Plains with a tip-off of 7:30
p.m.
