Chiefs win 6th straight, now in 2nd

KENT, Wash. - Collin Valcourt had one goal and two assists as the Spokane Chiefs won their sixth straight game with an 8-2 victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds in Western Hockey League action at the ShoWare Center on Tuesday night.

Spokane had eight different players score goals. Former Coeur d'Alene Laker Tyler Johnson scored a short-handed goal near the end of the second period to extend the Chiefs' lead to 3-1.

Spokane (18-9-2-2, 40 points) moved into second place in the U.S. Division, two points ahead of Tri-City and 11 back of Portland.

Spokane hosts Seattle tonight at 7 at the Spokane Arena.
