MOSES LAKE — The first-ever Alsted Real Estate Christmas Art Contest is accepting submissions by Grant County artists.

Artists of all ages are encouraged to enter works displaying “the spirit of Christmas.”

The first-place prize is $100 with other winners receiving smaller prizes.

Artwork is judged by a committee on “creativity, visual appearance, interest and quality.”

Entrants must be Grant County residents and provide their name, address and telephone number, as well as school and grade if applicable.

Artists 13 years old and younger must have a parent or guardian’s permission.

“We decided to offer a Christmas art contest this year to showcase local artists and budding artists of all ages,” says Susan Alsted-Fanning.

There is no limit on the number of submissions for contestants, but each must be submitted separately and no later than 5 p.m. on Monday.

“We’re just trying to do something different,” says Alsted-Fanning.

Everyone is invited to the showing on Monday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Alsted Real Estate, LLC, 420 West Broadway, Suite B.

Winners will be notified by Dec. 23 and artwork remains on display through Dec. 31.
