SANDPOINT — Sandpoint’s Garret Belgarde (125 pounds), Mike Fowler (152) and Lily DeAragon (112) each registered two pins, and Justin Pepperdine (189) picked up two wins as the Bulldogs split duals with St. Maries and Priest River in home-opening wrestling action Wednesday night at Les Rogers Court.

Kyle Csizmar, Josh Wren, Peyton Dillon and Dakota Blaese each registered a pin to help lead the Bulldogs to a convincing 64-19 win over St. Maries in the first dual.

Sandpoint built a 34-29 lead over Priest River in the second dual, but the Spartans rallied to win 47-34. One of the most exciting matches of the night came at 103 pounds, as Sandpoint freshman Jerad Fowler built a commanding lead over Diamond Robinson, before Robinson pulled a surprise pin.

Freshman Lily DeAragon looked calm and efficient in pinning her two opponents in less than two minutes, while Belgarde used an attacking style to dominate both of his opponents.

Sandpoint is at Tri-State on Friday and Saturday at NIC.
