"We played two quality opponents," first-year head coach Dustin Keltner said. "There was a lot of intensity and a lot of mistakes we can clean up."

Going into the season, the Warriors knew they'd have a pretty athletic team with seven seniors returning after a fourth place finish in the state tournament last season.

This weekend proved that and should have defenses trying to figure out how to stop an attack coming from all directions.

On Friday against Twin Bridges, a team that is very familiar with and has seen the divisional tournament, the Falcons scored with fewer than five seconds to go for the 64-62 victory.

"I think they're going to be a team you'll see in the divisional tournament," Keltner said of his team's

opponent.

Despite the loss, the Warriors saw a balanced attack from a trio of their seniors. Trae Burland led the team with 17 points, Kasey Bridgewater added 14 and point guard Jess Pfau had 13.

"We have a lot of different kids that can score," Keltner said.

Despite giving up 32 points in the paint, Keltner did like what he saw defensively from senior Eneas Inmee.

"Eneas had a fine, fine defensive game," he said.

On Saturday, Arlee found themselves once again locked in a close game and the team was able to come away with the 50-48 victory thanks to a rebound put-back by senior Thomas McClure in the closing moments of the game.

"We came out a little flat," Keltner said. "I think we were emotionally drained but they executed when they needed too."

McClure led the team with 17 points while Bridgewater had 13 and Pfau added 12. Arlee had a 26-19 lead at halftime, but Ennis had a 19-point fourth quarter that made things as close as a razor's edge.

"It's going to take time, everybody has little kinks they're trying to work out," Keltner said of adjusting to basketball season.

The Warriors will break out the lunch box and hard hat for film sessions and practices this weekend in preparation for Lincoln on Friday and St. Regis on Saturday.
