GREAT FALLS - There were plenty of good Montana wrestling teams at the CMR Holiday Classic last weekend and there were plenty of Lake County athletes making a splash in the tournament.
Ronan placed 16th out of 40 teams with 88 points at the tournament and had several athletes place in different weight classes.
"It wasn't a bad showing," Chiefs head coach Dustyn Azure said. "The young kids were very competitive."
Sophomore Andrew Teigan battled illness to take fifth place in the 125-pound weight class with a pin of Cody Ishler from Frenchtown 1:42 into the match.
"He was really sick all week," Azure said. "But he went out there and competed and show no signs of sickness affecting him."
Senior Cole McArthur took fourth in the 160-pound class after going 5-2 over the weekend.
"He's been having a great season," Azure said.
Senior Toby Cheff took second in the 189-pound class with a 4-1 record during the tournament.
"It's always good," Azure said of the tournament. "It's good seeing the competition within all the classes. We ended up getting to see some of the top Class A teams in the state and some of the top Class B/C teams."
