ROYAL CITY - A tough first quarter was too much for the Royal Lady Knights to overcome last night as they fell to visiting Kittitas 65-22.
Royal (0-7) trailed 23-2 after the first quarter and could not find the firepower needed to mount a comeback.
Stef Guadarrama led the Lady Knights with 12 points as Royal battled foul trouble with their post players and couldn't overcome 38 turnovers in the loss.
Also, over two dozen first half turnovers hurt any Lady Knights' cause for victory on Monday night as they fell 65-16 to Granger.
Granger led 41-9 by halftime and didn't let up as they handed Royal it's sixth straight loss to start the season.
"We hung with them half way through the first quarter but then they were able to pull away," Royal head coach Phil Daubel said. "They also outrebounded us rather handily which made a big difference in the game."
Guadarrama led Royal with nine points.
