OTHELLO - A horse had to be euthanized after a pickup truck and trailer hauling the animal landed on its top in a car wreck, six miles west of Othello, on Thursday morning.

The driver of the 2010 Dodge pickup truck, Jason A. Stewart, 35, Royal City, was heading eastbound on state Route 26 when a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu heading westbound allegedly collided with the truck, according to Washington State Patrol.

The car driven by Xu P. Huo, 29, Pullman, allegedly crossed the center line on SR 26 and turned sideways across both lanes when the truck collided with it, according to state patrol.

The truck came to a rest in an eastbound ditch, according to patrol.

Washington State Patrol determined Huo reportedly failed to keep right of center line.

Stewart was transporting another horse in the trailer. That horse survived the wreck.

Stewart and his six-year-old son was taken to Othello Hospital for reportedly minor injuries, according to patrol.

The driver of the car was transported to the hospital for an alleged broken femur.

The car's passenger, 28-year-old Wei Fan, of Pullman, was airlifted to Sacred Heart for an alleged broken femur as well.

Yanbin Bai, 27, Pullman, was airlifted to Sacred heart for reported head injuries and internal bleeding.

Bo Han, 27, Pullman, allegedly suffered a left knee injury and was taken to Othello Hospital.

Both vehicles involved were totaled.
