Boy's JV tops Newport

The Bonners Ferry JV boy’s team hosted Newport Monday night and after leading the entire game, came away with a 28-19 victory.

Bonners Ferry ended the first period with a 9-4 lead and added to the lead to end the first half with a 16-8 lead.

After halftime the Badgers played good defense while also working hard on the offensive side of the court to build their lead to 24-10.

Newport did not give up and made a bit of a run in the fourth period, but the Badgers held on to claim a 28-19 win.

The Badger’s leading scorer was Garrett Skeen who scored 10 points.

 Other JV scorers included Evan Moe with 5 points, Brenden Evans with 4 points and Cameron Woods with 3 points. Isaac Price, Jesse Woods and Cameron Woods each contributed 2 points.

The Bonners Ferry women’s varsity basketball team came Tuesday night to celebrate their seniors, but they also came hungry for a victory. The Badgers ended up honoring the seniors with a 46-28 drubbing of St. Maries.
