The i's were dotted and t's crossed Wednesday as The Hagadone Corporation signed the papers and closed on what will be the beginning of a new era at the Shoshone News-Press.

Following the Sept. 23 arson that left the Kellogg News-Press office at 401 Main St., Kellogg, in the care of the corporate insurance company, production of the daily newspaper, along with special sections and monthly publications such as the Wallace Miner, continued uninterrupted as the office relocated temporarily to 114 McKinley Ave. in Kellogg.

The new, permanent location for the Shoshone News-Press office will be 620 East Mullan Ave. in Osburn.

"We're very excited about it, I think it's an excellent location for the Shoshone News-Press," said Brad Hagadone, president of the Hagadone Communications Division. "The key thing is that we believe in the future of the Shoshone News-Press, the exciting future that we all will enjoy down the road in the Silver Valley. The location of our new facility will enable us to grow."

The announcement of the new office location was welcomed by Shoshone News-Press Publisher Dan Drewry.

"I was elated," Drewry said. "It's been a long haul since the morning of Sept. 23. The teamwork from the staff and the support of the community for their hometown paper has been exceptional."

The new Osburn location is centrally located in the Silver Valley between Kellogg and Wallace.

"The new location will be more accessible to our readers and advertisers," Drewry said. "We're looking forward to a great future."

Minor adjustments will be made to the existing office building to accommodate the Shoshone News-Press staff, including adding a connecting door to what currently is two separate office areas and wiring the location to be ready for use mid-February.

"We look forward to showing off our new office with an open house when we get moved in," Drewry said.
