MOSES LAKE - First and foremost I want to thank all the people who supported me in the last election.

Who would have guessed it would have turned into such a battle on an office that normally slips by unnoticed? This election has put the Moses Lake

Irrigation and Rehabilitation District front, center, and in the spot light.

Let's remember what Ron Covey promised during the election period.

The permits for dredging and the drying ponds will be complete and dredging will begin in March of 2011.

About 50,000 cubic yards of material will be dredged, dried and removed in 2011

Next year is going to be a year to let the MLIRD attempt to meet their commitments under our watchful eye.

The election system needs a total overhaul, no one challenging the system will ever be elected with the ballots going to the MLIRD office and controlled by staff. A simplified system should be in place giving everyone in the district an opportunity to vote.

Your current tax assessed by the Moses Lake Irrigation and Rehabilitation District is not legal and needs voter approval per RCW 87.84.070.

Ron Covey promised to look at the existing health care package for the directors that is currently in violation of Washington State law RCW 87.03.16. Misappropriation and falsification of accounts by a public officer could result in a class B felony which could carry up to a fifteen year penalty RCW 42.20.070.

Thanks again Moses Lake.

My goal always has been for the betterment of the Moses Lake area.
