BILLINGS - In Montana's 65th annual East-West Shrine game, there will be plenty of representation from Lake County as two athletes from the area were named to the team and another was marked as an alternate.

Ronan senior Toby Cheff was named to the offensive line for the West, along with Charlo senior Chico Stipe at the safety position.

Polson senior Kyle Bagnell was named as an alternate at wide receiver. The game will be played on July 16 in Laurel.

Cheff was an all-state selection at defensive end, while Stipe and Bagnell were all-state honorees as well. While also the team's leader at quarterback, Stipe was very impressive defensively, racking up 146 tackles and two interceptions.

Bagnell led the Northwestern A Conference in scoring, receptions and yards receiving.

The East-West Shrine football game showcases the state's best graduating high school seniors from all classes. The proceeds of the game will go to the Shriner's Hospital for Children in Spokane.

It's one of the oldest all-star games in the country and has been played every year since 1947.

Last year the game was played in Butte and raised $103,000. Players are chosen based on nominations by their coaches and then voted on by other coaches across Montana.
