School. Work. Homework. Athletics. Hanging out with friends.
It can be tiring to be a high school student, because lets admit it, there's a lot more asked of them than the normal adult. Really, when's the last time you filled out a math quiz?
Then there's junior Ashley Courville. Chances are you probably won't be able to find her unless you go to Mission High School. You see, she's not just a student there. She's not just a varsity athlete there.
No, she's doing multiple sports at once.
The 5'7" hitter helped the Lady Bulldogs volleyball team to their best finish in school history in districts, while also running for the Mission cross country team in their first season as a competing squad.
"If you were going to look up the definition of athlete, they'd have a picture of her," Mission head volleyball coach Kendal Anderson said in an earlier interview.
And it wasn't like she was just running. She was competing, placing 19th in the state for Class B in cross country.
"She's got the right attitude where she gives everything she participates in her all and it shows," Mission cross country coach Patrick Murphy said during the season.
When Courville first started running for the cross country team, she sent out a Facebook request to get more girls to join.
"Not only is she a true athlete, but she's also a leader," Anderson said.
But despite being a varsity volleyball player for two years, she was still nervous for her first cross country meet.
"I forgot my socks and I ended up getting a super bad blister," Courville said.
However, that didn't slow her down and she still hasn't slowed down even after volleyball season. She plays basketball for the Lady Bulldogs, a team that's currently undefeated this season. And on top of all that, she's going for her black belt in Tae-Kwon Do.
Courville isn't just a player in one sport, she's a multi-talented athlete that has done many things for Mission High School. Oh yeah, and she's a high school student.
And she's making things look easy.
