Sports Update: LHS qualifies 13 for state; Roby and Dylan Berget win titles

The Libby High School wrestling team qualified 13 athletes for the Class A state tournament.
Mike Roby (125 pounds) and Dylan Berget (145) each claimed individual championships. Kyle Sweedman (171) finished runner-up with a 5-4 loss to rival Brock Picard of Polson.
Isaac King (105), Mitch Haugen (130), Kyle Leir (135), Kody Berget (189) and Lucas Puckett (Hwt) also had runner-up showings.
Also qualifiying for the Greenchain were Ian Edwards-Myslicki (98), Aaron Seefeldt (119), Cody Elliott (140), Austin Bailey (160) and Rigo Ibarra (215).
As a team, Libby compiled 176.5 points to finish third. Polson won the meet with 232 points, following by Ronan, LHS, Columbia Falls and Whitefish.
The state meet is coming up Friday and Saturday in Billings.

Troy Softball Takes Two From Drummond
The Drummond High School softball team rolled into Troy Saturday with high hopes of ending a long streak of being on the wrong end of the score, and for half of the first game of the doubleheader, looked like they had every chance of doing just that. However the host Trojans exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and then shut down Drummond in the top of the fifth, winning 14-3. Troy kept the bats hot in the second game, plating 21 runs to end that game early as well, 21-11.
Action on Quiet Waters Initiative expected May 26
The Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission will act on the Quiet Waters rule proposal in a meeting rescheduled for 8:30 a.m. May 26 at Montana WILD.
