An Amber Alert issued on Sunday was canceled when the child being sought was found early Sunday evening.

Washington State Patrol located Aspen Little, 1, and her mother, Tiffany Little, 38, at 5:20 p.m. in Mabton, Wash., Coeur d'Alene Police reported.

The alert was issued earlier in the day after a female hitchhiker called 911 just before 9 a.m. to report the mother had tried to give the child to her in the area of U.S. 95 and Highway 53.

After Idaho State Police left the area, the hitchhiker reported Little returned and gave her a ride to First Presbyterian Church at Fifth and Lakeside in Coeur d'Alene around 10 a.m.

Idaho and Washington authorities continue an investigation into the incident.
