POLSON — The Polson girls’ basketball team came away with a non-conference win and conference loss last week.

On Thursday, the Pirates beat Eureka 51-39 after finding themselves down by one after the first quarter.

Polson rallied with strong offense led by three players with double-digit points; junior Breanne Kelley had 16, sophomore Riley Kenney had 12 and senior Nicole Davey added 11.

Last Saturday, Polson faced conference-foe Libby in a close 53-46 loss. Both teams are now tied for second in the conference.

After a three-point lead after the first quarter, the Pirates managed six points in the second to face a six-point deficit at the half.

A 17-point fourth quarter wasn’t enough as the Loggers scored 22 for the win.

Junior Sierra Pete led with 13 points and Kelley added 10.

Polson will travel to conference-leader Columbia Falls tonight and host Ronan on Saturday in the last week of competition before the divisional tournament Feb. 26-27 in Kalispell.
