The Libby High School girls basketball team played well in its regular-season home finale on Tuesday night with a 51-44 victory over Columbia Falls.

The Lady Loggers fought back from an early 8-0 deficit to tie the game, 10-10, by the end of the first quarter behind a trio of 3-pointers by Jackie Mee. The Logger senior was just getting warmed up and ended up scoring 29 points with six 3-pointers.

Libby went on a 12-0 run in the third quarter to lead by eight points. Columbia Falls got back to within 47-44 with 16 seconds left but free throws by Mee and LaRona Luscher iced the victory for the Loggers.

Along with Mee's 29, Luscher finished with 10 points. Kelsey DeWit scored 16 for the Wildkats.

Troy Softball Takes Two From Drummond

The Drummond High School softball team rolled into Troy Saturday with high hopes of ending a long streak of being on the wrong end of the score, and for half of the first game of the doubleheader, looked like they had every chance of doing just that. However the host Trojans exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and then shut down Drummond in the top of the fifth, winning 14-3.
