50-32 win. The Pirates lost to Columbia Falls 52-44 last Thursday, allowing the Wildkats to clinch the Northwestern A regular-season title. Polson started close against Columbia Falls, down 14-11 after the first, before managing only seven points in the second for a 12-point deficit at the half. The Pirates outscored Columbia Falls 26-22 in the second half, but it wasn’t enough for the win. Junior Breanne Kelley led with 14 points and sophomore Riley Kenney notched 10.Two nights later, roles were reversed for Polson in a 50-32 win over Ronan. Scoring double-digit points all game, the Pirates earned an 11-point lead at the half. Kelley had 15 points. Both Davey and Pete added 10. Polson enters the Northwestern A divisional tournament this weekend, facing Libby at 4 p.m. on Friday at Glacier High School.

Maidens lose two

Sophomore Nina Orozco dives for a ball during the Tip-off tournament. Against Big Sky last Tuesday, Ronan lost 63-13. Junior Jonna Grant led with four points and went two-for-two at the free throw line. Last Saturday, the Maidens lost 40-33 to Mission. Orozco led with nine points.
