Kayla and Ron Couture emerge from icy Flathead Lake all smiles after taking the annual Polar Plunge on New Year’s Day. Though the event had no official sponsor, about 20 plungers showed up at 1 p.m. to partake in the frigid traditional start to the year. Kayla claimed this was her third plunge in Polson, something she does “so my dad can’t hold anything against me.” Plungers were in and quickly out of the water, with the air temperature hovering around the mid-30s.
