ARLEE — The Arlee girls’ basketball team got into foul trouble last Saturday leading to a 46-30 loss to Superior.
“Overall, it was a pretty good game in the first half,” head coach Richard Bachmeier said.
The Scarlets led by one at the half, but the game got away from them as senior Chelsea Allaire and junior Melissa Ivanoff fouled out.
“That’s just the way the calls went,” he said. “We just had one of those second halves.”
Sophomore Becca Nelson and freshman Tiffany O’Neil replaced them on the floor.
Kristyn Adams paced Arlee with nine points and Ivanoff had eight.
Patience on offense is something Arlee needs to work on, Bachmeier said. Arlee also missed 21 free throws.
Those are two things that will need to improve as Arlee takes on Charlo tonight and Hot Springs on Friday.
“They are good ball clubs, otherwise they wouldn’t be ranked one and two,” Bachmeier said. “It’ll be a challenge, but I think we can at least play ball with them. We just have to play like we are capable of playing.”
