A Bonners Ferry woman was transferred from Boundary Community Hospital to Bonner General Hospital in Sandpoint after being hit by a van at 12:23 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, in the parking lot of Boundary Trading Co.

Cybil VanDyke, 78, was in stable condition before being transferred, according to a spokeswoman for the Bonners Ferry hospital.

Bonner General would not release additional information.

Driver Caleb Clark, 20, of Bonners Ferry was cited with inattentive driving for hitting VanDyke as she walked from BTC, said Bonners Ferry Deputy Chief Joel Minor.

“He was going to fast,” Minor said. “He never saw her.”

VanDyke was hit by the van’s passenger side.
