SHS girls fall to Coeur d'Alene

COEUR d’ALENE — Sophomore Erin Legel and freshman Kendalyn Brainard scored 15 points apiece, leading Coeur d’Alene past Sandpoint 64-22 in nonleague girls basketball at Elmer Jordan Court.

“Erin Legel did a really good job tonight,” Vikings coach Dale Poffenroth said. “She was 3 of 6 on 3s, had four steals and a couple of assists — she was all over the floor.”

Carli Rosenthal and Dayna Drager chipped in with 10 points each for the Vikings (15-1), one of the top teams in the state.

Maggie Kirscher scored eight to lead the Bulldogs (1-13), and Koko James added six  points in defeat.

Sandpoint hosts Bonners Ferry on Saturday night as part of the Moose Madness festivities.
