Wampus Cat boys come up short

CLARK FORK — Chaunce Nesbitt scored 10 points to lead Clark Fork in a 60-37 loss to Stillwater Christian recently at Clark Fork High School.

Nate Nesbitt added seven points and Victor Walker six as the Cats (0-12) continues to fight for their first win.

Tuesday night, the Wampus Cats fell 42-29 to the Bonners Ferry JV team at Bonners Ferry High School. Nate Nesbitt scored a team-high nine points, and Chaunce Nesbitt added eight.

“We missed a lot of gimmies,” said Cats head coach Melvin Speelmon, who liked his team’s defensive intensity. “Stillman Berkley and Victor Walker had really nice defensive games.”

The boys team hosts Kootenai on Saturday.

n Wampus Cat girls crack top five

The Clark Fork girls basketball team received 10 votes in a recent media poll, placing them at No. 5 in the Idaho state 1A Div. II rankings.

All four of the Cats (10-4) losses are to 3A teams. They host Kootenai on Saturday.
