After a prolonged illness, former Bonners Ferry resident, Burdette “Bud” Branscum passed away Monday, January 4, 2010 in Palo Alto, Calif.   He was 78 years old.

A man of many different abilities Bud carried a number of titles during his lifetime; father, grandfather, son, husband, brother, uncle and friend.  He was a Marine, a truck driver, business owner, carpenter, dairy farmer and delivery man.

Bud was born in Arkansas, raised in California, and resided in Idaho.  He spent his last years and in Oklahoma, and returned to California for his final months.

Bud was proceeded in death by son Gary Branscum and parents Coy and Clarice Branscum.  He is survived by daughter, Melinda Branscum Brinkman, her husband David and their children Liliana and Logan; son, Jerry Brancum, his wife Tamy, and daughter Charena; a grandson, Gary Branscum Jr. and former wife of 51 years, Charlotte Branscum.
