Lady Vikings win twice on the road

PHILIPSBURG — The Charlo girls basketball team’s defense led the way in two wins last week.
The Vikings beat Phillipsburg 55-36 last Thursday and St. Regis 43-9 last Saturday.
Against Phillipsburg, head coach Bret Thompson said the Vikings played better defense in the second half.
A team effort from eight different players put in 18 points in the third quarte. Nine players scored in the game.
“I was able to get some players in the game,” Thompson said.
The next day, the Vikings outscored St. Regis 15-2 in the second qurater, allowing for a 17-point lead at the half.
“We jumped on them at halftime,” Thompson said as his team allowed only one point in the second half.
Sophomore Dawn Blevins led with six steals and sophomore Kinley Pope had eight rebounds. Senior Stephanie Maughan had 11 points, five assists and five steals.
“We have been playing well,” Thompson said. “We need to do a better job of consistency on offense.”
Charlo played Plains on Tuesday night. Scores were unavailable at press time.
The Vikings will host Noxon on Saturday night.

Maidens lose two
